Giving Thanks In 2020

November 06, 2020

While Thanksgiving became an official holiday in 1870, Americans have been taking part in this tradition of gratitude since the Pilgrims arrived on our shores. Since then, our country has experienced wars, depressions, natural disasters, social upheavals, and international crises, and still we come together at this time of year to remember what’s important and be grateful for what we have. This year, in the middle of a global pandemic and a charged election season, we think it’s more important than ever to celebrate Thanksgiving and turn our minds to our many blessings.

Gratitude In Hard Times

When COVID-19 shut our country down back in March, many of us took the time to slow down, reflect on what matters to us, and be grateful for both the small and significant things in life. For me, that looks like appreciating the close bonds of family, spending more time outside, and the fact that both my wife and I have flexible jobs that allow us to work from home. As a family, we’re thankful that our kids’ school, Christ the King Catholic School, has worked so hard to get their students safely back into the classroom during these crazy times! Focusing on these things, rather than the challenges, is what has carried us through.

Over the past 8 months, your endurance, patience, and perspectives have probably been tested more than ever. We encourage you to use this time of year to take a deep breath, shut out the noise, and celebrate, even if it looks different than usual!

It’s All About Relationships

Many of us have missed countless family gatherings, making memories outside the home, and spending time with friends in 2020, which means we are probably all the more thankful when we do get the rare chance to safely be with loved ones! Even if you are not traveling to join with family this Thanksgiving or your traditions have to be modified, don’t forget to reach out to those in your life and share what they mean to you.

We hope that your Thanksgiving leaves you refreshed and recharged and ready to look forward with hope. Through it all, we at Fiduciary Wealth Management are here for you and your family, just a phone call away. Schedule a phone call now to share your questions, concerns, or just to touch base before the end of the year. Happy Thanksgiving!
